October 2026

Dear friends, we are excited to share our first monthly newsletter for Shining Lights. This is a monthly summary of the preachers we support.

Digos, Philippines. Julie is the man in the yellow shirt. We count 37 people lined up in the river with him.

Digos, Philippines

Julie Notarte

Julie Divine Albano Notarte preaches at the Digos City Church of Christ. His sons preach with him. They teach other preachers, hold gospel meetings, study the Bible in the community, and travel into the jungle.

The river picture is new. Those 37 people are standing in the water with Julie, lined up to be baptized. It is the clearest look we have had yet at what a day with him actually looks like.

He also sent word of souls baptized from May through August, and pictures from other days in the river. One of them is the congregation at Opis Church of Christ, Sitio Opis, San Fernando, Bukidnon. That church has been meeting since 1997.

Pamplona, Philippines

Robinson and Ederlyn Pulveras

Robinson and Ederlyn work with the churches at Sitio Dubeng and Pata East. They also walk out to Bible studies around Sanchez Mira and Pamplona. Ederlyn teaches the children.

In August, two close neighbors were baptized on the 9th. They had been in a home Bible study for a year, then started coming on Sunday, and answered the invitation. On the 16th, a 12-year-old girl was baptized at Junction Libertad. She had been coming to services since she was small.

On the last day of August they started a new church building, in heavy rain. They do not have enough funds to finish it at this time.

They are still helping neighbors after the typhoons: food, clothing, and help putting houses back up. Sunday worship, the children, and a baptism at Pata East are below.

Embale, Uganda

Adolome Isaac

Adolome preaches with several congregations in Uganda. He and his wife have two children, and two foster children live with them.

In his newest report, he stands with the group at Embale and calls them his family. He thanks Shining Lights for the care, especially in a time of need, and he asks you to keep helping. The picture is that group.

The other picture is a weekday study outside, Bibles open on a mat under the trees. That is most of his weeks: not a stage, a circle of people.

Quetzaltenango, Guatemala

Shuan Manuel Ventura Mendez

Manuel recently moved to Quetzaltenango to help strengthen the churches there. There are three congregations in the city. He is married and has three children.

One picture is Manuel teaching. The other is the family at home. He is still getting settled in a new city, with three congregations to look after. Keep them in your prayers.

Also this month

Shining Lights has been blessed to send aid for food to four other preachers: two in Uganda and two in Kenya.

On September 26 the Colliers held an informational meeting about Shining Lights at their home. They talked about the preachers who are supported now, and watched videos from three of them.

Thank you

Thank you. Around the world, preaching the gospel and helping with needs. If you have been praying, please keep on: Julie, Robinson, Adolome, Manuel, and their families.

All donations go 100% to the recipients.

With love,
Shining Lights
